1979 Porsche 928

Price: US $3,500.00 SOLD OUT

Up for sale a project Porsche 1979 with a 5 speed manual transmission.Schwarz black with cork leather interior.Has been sitting in storage since 2018. Its a good candidate for a restoration, however I've never been able to find really any time for it.The exterior paint looks like it was painted at macco 10 years ago. Looks good from 20 feet away other that a few troubled areas like bubbling around the drivers door mirror or qyuarter panel. After I've buffed the whole car and it made it look ok. Haven't done anything since. The body is solid, no holes, no rust other than surface. The interior has been disassembled before I've purchased it. The leather show wear on the driver seat, and I've always planned to have the seat foam redone and keeping the original leather.I have had the car started a handful of times, and had some services done.It currently has an intermitted ignition issue, half the time will start from the turn of the keys. The other half you will hear a click from the starter and you have to jump a positive to the starter terminal on the fuse box to start. Issue started after the starter was replaced in 2020.After start up it likes to die after 5-10 seconds. Can sputter during the first attempts. After it warms up it runs good. No idea when the last timing belt was done. Have purchased all the new belts kit and never gotten around to install. I was explained the Bosch k Jetronic needs rebuild, hence the sputtering. I have a rebuild kit that comes with it.From what I gather this is a US market car. There aren't any records that come with it.The few times I've had it running I've went through all the gears and they engaged easily. There is an oil leaks from one of the valve covers (gaskets are in the car).Half the time there was a light noise from the clutch (could be from rust debree, no idea). The lower oilpan gasket was replaced 4 years ago along with a used rack and pinion. Both original leaked.Replaced sparkplugs and wires when purchased. The interior is in pieces and is mostly complete. Over all this can be a budget project for some one, or due to being a 1979 or early model worth a complete restore.Message me with any questions, good car for a restoration - just no time for it. Clean indiana title on hand, has keys. No warranty of any kind.
