I am selling my 1968 Corvair Convertible. This is a beautiful car and a must see! She is candy apple red over gold metal flake. The color absolutely pops in the sunlight. She runs strong and drives outstanding!! The engine was 164 cubic inch stock, now its 172 cubic inch. The turbo charger has been recently rebuilt and makes 11 lbs boost. It has steel crank, new pistons and rods 7 to 1 originally now 8.1 to 1 compression ratio. Custom made headers and exhaust. Heads are done with larger valves, push rod changes to have better angle. Cam is made by Cam Motion for turbo. All bearings are new. New alternator, changed stock oil cooler to larger one with a fan. Carburetor is a DCOE 45 with DCOE 40 intake runners and pressure operated secondary. High performance case studs, high performance head studs, Rhoades lifters, Clark Ultimate Valve Covers, and oil pan with high performance oil pick up and high volume oil pump. New cam gears, high performance valve spring retainers. High performance crank pulleys. Msd ignition with retard adjustment electric ignition. High performance clutch, pressure plate and flywheel. A rebuilt transmission with all new bearings and syncros. New ring and pinion 308 for HWY. Clarkâs lower control arm bracket. Helm joint control arms. All nylon suspension bushings, fast ratio steering arms, new steering linkage, new master cylinder, wheel cylinders and springs. Stainless brake lines, carbon metallic shoes. Koni Shocks, new spring coils, new tail lights, new seats and carpet and a new top. This car is as beautiful inside as it is on the outside. The interior has all been replaced except for the door panels and dash cover. They did not need replacing and are in excellent condition. The car is available to be seen in Sanford, Florida.
