1966 Porsche 912 (White/Tan)

Price: US $45,000.00 SOLD OUT

Fully Restored and Modified. Had this listed last year and decided to hang on to it.  Relocation forces me to part with it. Only 800 miles since the restoration was completed. This is a heavily modified example.  It is built to be driven.  The entire car was completely disassembled, media blasted, new floors, front pan, innner/outer rockers etc. any sheet metal exhibiting any rust whatsoever was replaced.  The entire lower Chassis was coated with Lizard Skin heat shield and sound deadener.  The interior cabin was also coated. Engine was professionally rebuilt by a local Porsche race engine builder.  We uprated the heads and installed Weber 45s.  Horsepower is estimate to be 130.  The transmission was also rebuilt to Porsche 911 racing spec along with a 911 clutch and pressure plate.  Overkill?  yes, but also bulletproof. Front Suspension is off a 1973 911. All new Koni shocks. The truth is that I have over $60K invested.  No expense was spared to make this a special car to enjoy for decades to come. Custom Leather interior, I have nearly every receipt, a CD documenting the 18 month restoration process, 2 bins of spare parts. To make sure anyone serious about this car has ALL the facts, this car came out an estate on a local race driver.  It was on the track for a period of time.  It is not a "true" documentable 1966 with numbers matching.  It is in fact what I affectionately refer to as a FrankenPorsche.  The Vin plate may be the only thing that is all that's remaining from the original car, I just have no to way to confirm it, but that's how it's titled.  The engine and transmission are in fact 1966 models. The hood, decklid and doors are all off of a 1968.  The Chassis is not stamped, but has a factory sunroof, the car appears to have been chopped after a wreck on the track - a fact discovered during the restoration.  The welding that was done was corrected and reinforced.  I have pics showing the workmanship, the car is now more structurally sound than it would have been when it left Germany.  It still retains the distinctive "ping" when the doors close. The sunroof has continued to be a source of consternation.  It doesn't operate the way I would like and I have replaced all the running gear.  The seals seem to be the problem, but I have been unable to locate a mechanic with enough imagination or skill to solve it.  It opens and closes, but the interior panel is not installed because it drags.  Aside from this issue, it leaks a miniscule amount of oil, they all do, and after 6 different sets and styles of gaskets I just decided to live with it. A blast to drive, turns heads everywhere, mechanically she's perfect. I'll do my best to answer any questions.
