1966 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic (Bare Metal/Red/Black)

Price: US $5,200.00 SOLD OUT

Runs and drives well. Definitely a daily driver if you need one. Clean title (no liens, not a salvage). No emissions required in AZ, annual registration is $18. Pan/body numbers match. Pans are completely rust free and in great shape. Everything on the car is either original or year correct except the '71 1600 engine.  Exterior: No Paint. Entire body was soda-blasted. This car is a blank canvas. You want a rusty? No problem, just add water. You want to paint it? It's ready for primer. The body is super clean except some dimples at the bottom of the front fenders and apron. Aside from that, no dents or rust (except 2 quarter-sized spots at the end of the heater channels, super easy plug weld fix). All new rubber seals (windows, doors, fender beads, head/tail lights, etc.)  Engine: Single-port 1600. 12 volt generator. New Coil, Distributor, Rebuilt carb, new oil cooler block-off seals. Fresh oil, changed every 1K miles, and the same goes for the fuel filter. Fuel lines and tank cleaned out 500 miles ago, along with a new sender and the filter sock and petcock.  Suspension: Rear lowered with drop plates, adjustable front beam narrowed link pin. Wheels are powder-coated fire engine red. New set of Smart Car tires with port-a-walls.  Interior: New black carpet kit, new stock white perf headliner, seats are black and red perf higher grade vinyl. New door and rear quarter panels. Dash is a quick rattle-can job with good automotive paint. Radio slot not deleted.  All new wheel cylinders, soft lines, and master cylinder. Brakes work great.  Potential projects: could use new wiring - electrical works, but the wires are not all correctly color coded or very orderly. Could use some carpet or paint under the hood to clean up a bit. Driver's side door latch sticks a little, could use some adjusting. There is a new coupler, but could use a new shiftrod bushing. All things that could probably end up being a nice way to spend a weekend and a little more than a hundred bucks.  This car is already a conversation piece, and could easily be a show-stopper with a little more work. I love the car and drive it pretty much everywhere. I'm selling to fund another project.
