1957 Chevrolet Corvette (Venetian Red/Red)

Price: US $75,000.00 SOLD OUT

I received the email below from a gentleman who recognized Lil Twister from my info wanted ad in National Dragster.  This narrows my search down significantly but, after 50 years, it is still not as easy as one would think even after good tips such as this one!  Please contact me (envcons@comcast.net) with any and all info about the following:  (1) "Lil Twister" racing at the Great Lakes Dragaway at Union Grove, WI, Oswego Dragstrip in Oswego, IL, US 30 Dragstrip in Gary, IN, or the US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, MI.  (2) The Cheveland Team.  (3) The Z16 396 1965 Chevelle named "The Twister."  (4) Anything at all! Hi Bob, Yea, I sure do know the car.  Well it has to be the same car.  How many Little Twister Corvettes can there be?  I'm sure it's same car.  My dad raced and was involved with a number of race cars in late 50s 60s and 70s.  So growing up I spent lots of time at local tracks US 30 in Gary Indiana, Martin Michigan, Union Grove in Wisconsin and Oswego in IL.  I remember the Little Twister and his Comrade The Twister because my dad was friends with the team of Cheveland cars and they were all very friendly guys.  They befriended my dad and uncle back then. Whoever arrived at the track first would save enough spots for them all to pit together.  Unfortunately my dad can't remember any of their names.  I want to say the guy's name was Herschel but my dad says he doesn't think it was.  The little twister was a beautiful red white and black corvette.  The Corvette was professionally lettered and had beautiful paint job.  Originally it was a 350 horse 327, but my dad says it was actually a worked 365 horsepower that they ran with hydraulic lifters.  Later on they built bigger engines and had a tunnel ram on it for while and fuel injected it for a time.  It was always a very successful first class car.  It was Very fast and straight as a laser.  His partner had The Twister and it was a 1965 Big Block z16 Chevelle.  At first the Chevelle was an ugly maroon color and the lettering was very unprofessionally done. Later it was painted red white and black like the Corvette.  Dennis  Sent from my iPhone Additional notes on Lil Twister are that the  BM/SP is B Modified Sports, an NHRA class from 1961-67.  The "Headers by Cyclone" is intriguing.  Could Cyclone Headers have been a possible sponsor?  Although partially stripped, the front fenders read 327 CU. IN. 350 H.P.  This comports to what Dennis said in his e.   Two other clues are a AAA Michigan sticker and a Tau Kappa Epsilon sticker on the windows.
